THE PERSON UNDER ALL THAT PAINT

THE WHY

I’m a painter based in California who believes in using art to help intentionally curate the spaces where we live and work to reflect what we love and value most in our lives.

I believe each piece of art evokes memories and emotions, I love connecting to people through that experience.

ABOUT MY WORK

I have an insatiable curiosity and a love of nature. The artwork I make is a lot like me – equal parts careful planning and spontaneous exploration and messiness. The style can be described as abstract. It is colorful and textured, often including golden tones and different glittering materials.

Sometimes creating texture adds something really unique to the piece. I love that process of discovery.

MY HISTORY

I started painting when I was 7 and had my first exhibition at 14. I studied graphic design at university but worked as a photographer for 10 years. During that time I continued to paint and participated in exhibitions. I was blessed to win some international awards.

When we moved from Ottawa, Canada to California I decided to change my career a little bit and try something new. I worked as an event planner for major tech companies in Bay Area and was very successful at it. I loved communicating with people and all the creative aspects of my job. But when the pandemic started I decided to stay home with kids, and it’s when I went back to what I love the most - creating and painting.

ME TODAY

I live with my husband and 2 little kids. I love spending time at my studio in Sunnyvale. I like hiking and visiting new places. When I’m not painting I’m creating kids lessons for CreoFun YouTube channel where I demonstrate how to draw. Please subscribe if you have young artists at home. Also I show some acrylic painting techniques at Maria Kuzmina’s YouTube channel. I love spending time with friends and learning something new.
